Todd Takayoshi enters his second season as the Minor League Assistant Hitting Coordinator with the A’s. He previously served as the assistant hitting coach for the Las Vegas Aviators (2023) and the hitting coach for the Midland RockHounds (2022).
Before joining the A’s, Todd worked as a hitting coach in both the Reds and Angels organizations and served as the Assistant Minor League Hitting Coordinator for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2013–2015).
Todd brings years of experience helping hitters develop consistency, power, and confidence at the plate. Todd offers hitting and catching lessons during his offseason.
Jose Barajas brings seven seasons of professional playing experience. Originally from Las Vegas, NV. Jose’s performance at Spring Valley High School earned him a scholarship at Western Nevada College. His All conference honors led to him being selected in the 26th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles.
After three seasons within the Orioles’ minor league system, Jose embarked on an extensive professional career in Mexico, spanning from 2011 through 2019. This veteran experience in high-pressure, international professional leagues gives him a unique perspective on what it takes to compete and win at the highest levels.
Jose now specializes in helping to command the strike zone and the development of diverse pitch types. By emphasizing the mental side of the game he makes the challenge of learning new techniques a fun. Utilizing basic principles with modern training methodologies, he focuses on optimizing arm health and helping pitchers improve their arsenal—from increasing velocity, to pitch command.
Donovan Gilderhus, a native of Puyallup, Washington, is a dedicated baseball player and instructor with years of experience competing at the high school and collegiate levels. A graduate of Rogers High School in Puyallup, Washington. Donovan was a two-year varsity player, serving as team captain during his senior season. That year, he earned recognition as an SPSL 2nd Team All-League Utility player, showcasing his versatility and leadership on the field.
Following high school, Donovan continued his career at Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington, where he started at second base for two seasons. His leadership and work ethic were recognized once again as he was named team captain in his sophomore year.
Donovan later transferred to Dakota State University, where he played as a shortstop and second baseman, continuing to build on his reputation as a reliable infielder and team leader.
Coaching for over 4 years, Donovan specializes in hitting and infield training, sharing his knowledge and experience to help other athletes develop their skills and elevate their game.
Coach Riley was a three-year varsity starter at South Kitsap High School, where he helped the Wolves to a 2014 State Championship runner-up finish and a 2015 State Championship title. He earned 2nd Team All-League honors as a sophomore and 1st Team All-League as a senior.
He continued his career at the University of Puget Sound, posting a .307 collegiate batting average — including .361 his senior year — and earning a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
Most recently, Coach Riley has led multiple 15U teams as head coach and served as a volunteer assistant at the University of Puget Sound, helping the Loggers reach their first-ever conference tournament appearance in 2025.
Nathan, a native of Des Moines, Washington, developed his love for the game early while attending Mount Rainier High School. A versatile athlete, he excelled as both a pitcher and a switch-hitting shortstop, earning a varsity letter all four years. His talent and dedication to the sport led him to compete with the NorthWest Elite team, traveling across the country to face Junior College programs, while also making an impact locally with the Crimson Cannons.
After high school, Nathan continued his baseball journey at Clark College, where he spent three years contributing as a pitcher. His passion for athletics and player development then took him to Washington State University, where he served as the lead Strength and Conditioning Intern for both the baseball and swim teams. This experience solidified his commitment to athlete performance and training, ultimately leading him to become a Certified Personal Trainer. Today, Nathan combines his playing background and strength expertise to help athletes grow, perform, and reach their full potential.
Paige Wilson is a junior starting pitcher at Pacific Lutheran University, originally from San Diego.
In 2025, she earned All-Conference First Team honors, was named Tacoma Athletic Commission Female Athlete of the Year, and was recognized as NFCA Pitcher of the Week.
Paige’s lessons focus on building strong fundamentals, confidence, and consistency in the circle, while helping young athletes develop a true love for the game.
Jaimee Cagle is a junior outfielder at Pacific Lutheran University, originally from Greenleaf Idaho. Growing up playing travel ball has allowed her to travel and play top talent around the United States, as well as play at PGF. Coming into PLU as a utility has given Jaimee the ability to see the game from an infielder and outfielder perspective. Which she has transitioned into helping coach a 12u team.
Jaimee focuses on building fundamentals, confidence, and adaptability on the field while growing on the love of the game.
Jack grew up in University Place, Washington, where his love for baseball began at a young age and quickly became a lifelong passion. He attended Curtis High School, where he earned a spot on the Varsity team and competed at a high level throughout his career. After high school, Jack continued his playing journey at Pacific Lutheran University, where he further developed his skills and knowledge of the game.
Throughout most of his career, Jack excelled as a two-way player, contributing both on the mound and at the plate. That experience gave him a unique perspective on the game, allowing him to understand it from multiple angles and positions. His time as both a pitcher and position player has shaped the way he coaches today, bringing a well-rounded approach to teaching, developing, and mentoring athletes on and off the field.
Originally from Gig Harbor, Erik grew up playing in many tournaments and leagues around the state of Washington. He attended Mount Rainier Lutheran High School. In his senior year, he was the League MVP. In College he played at William Woods University. He spent two seasons with the Owls as an Outfielder.
Cole Hatton is a former four-year starting pitcher at Saint Martin’s University, where he gained invaluable experience competing at the collegiate level. Following his playing career, he returned to SMU as the pitching coach, bringing his knowledge and passion for the game to the next generation of players. Cole’s coaching philosophy centers on building strong routines, developing confidence on the mound, and helping athletes grow in all areas of their game. His focus is not only on improving performance but also on shaping players into well-rounded competitors prepared for success both on and off the field.
