Introducing Jose Barajas – Director of Pitching Development for Marucci Legacy
We’re proud to welcome Jose Barajas to our program as our new Director of Pitching Development for the 2026–27 season.
Jose brings with him seven seasons of professional playing experience, including time in the Baltimore Orioles organization after being selected in the 26th round of the 2008 MLB Draft. A Las Vegas native, he developed his game at Spring Valley High School before earning a scholarship to Western Nevada College, where he received All-Conference honors.
Following his time in affiliated baseball, Jose built an extensive professional career in Mexico from 2011 to 2019. Competing internationally in high-pressure environments has shaped his understanding of what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of the game.
Today, Jose focuses on developing pitchers through a complete approach that includes:
Command of the strike zone
Development of multiple pitch types
Velocity and pitch design
Arm care and long-term health
He also emphasizes the mental side of pitching, helping athletes build confidence while making the learning process engaging and effective. His coaching blends fundamental principles with modern training methodologies to help pitchers maximize their performance.
Jose is currently available for lessons and will officially join our full training staff for the upcoming season.
If you see him around the facility, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself and welcome him to the program—we’re excited to have him on board and can’t wait for our players to benefit from his experience and leadership.
